Minimally Invasive Dentistry

What is minimally invasive dentistry?

This type of dentistry is focused on preserving as much of the natural structures of the teeth and gums in creating a healthy stable environment as possible. It always means using the most up to date procedures and equipment as well as continually updating skills of the entire dental team.

What does this mean for my dental treatment?

  • It means that fillings are bonded to the tooth because they are more conservative than the old, larger, silver fillings. Teeth that are broken can often be restored with inlays and onlays instead of crowns. Less teeth will need root canal treatment because the procedures are less invasive.
  • It means that we will advise treatment at the earliest stages of the problem to minimize the time, expense and discomfort of waiting until you require a more extensive procedure.
